While Egypt and Korea are geographically far apart, both are close to my heart since my childhood.

To show my love for both nations, I decided to make hand embroidery with a design featuring two hands making finger hearts and the flags of the two countries.

I chose to show my love for Egypt and Korea through embroidery.

Materials

cloth, thread, needles, embroidery frame, pencil and scissors

Directions
1. Cut the cotton fabric to the desired shape and close the embroidery frame on the fabric.
2. Draw or sketch the design with a pencil.
3. Using the needle and thread, embroider along the sketch.

I used a back stitch to define the drawing. I added the flag of Korea, with four groups of lines. For the Egyptian flag, I also chose the back stitch to define the heart from the outside and added a yellow color to symbolize the eagle. Finally, I used light purple- and onion-colored thread to stitch the French knot from the outside for decoration.
