Busan is Korea's second-largest and biggest port city and features spectacular places for both domestic and foreign tourists. This is why I decided to go there during my 2019 trip to Korea. Ahead of my journey, I researched blogs, tourism websites and videos to plan my travel routes.

The following are four places I recommend visiting to see natural scenery in Busan.

Gamcheon Culture Village features murals and artworks created by residents.

Gamcheon Culture Village
This charming place on a mountain was initially established with no urban planning but the city government later renovated it for inhabitants. This renewal helped boost the area economy through tourism.

The highlights are the small colorful houses, murals and artworks throughout the village. A couple of hours are needed to walk through the village, but its narrow alleys hold many surprises. Among the most popular attractions are the statues of the Little Prince and the fox.

Busan Tower (right) is famous for its stunning night view.

Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park
The 120 m-tall Busan Tower is at the center of the city in the Nampo-dong neighborhood. The observation deck offers a panoramic view of the city, Bongnaesan Mountain, Yeongdodaegyo Bridge and the harbor. At night, the tower is illuminated with colored lights.

Yongdusan Park at the front of the tower has a cafe and restaurant featuring traditional Korean architecture.

The sea stretches out ahead of Oryukdo Skywalk, making the spot perfect for a photo op.

Oryukdo Skywalk
To experience a great natural landscape near the sea, Oryukdo Skywalk is the perfect place. The glass floor allows visitors to see the waves hitting the rocks below their feet.

In the front is the rocky Oryukdo Island, whose name literally means "five or six islands" based on the number of islets that appear depending on tide level and direction from where one observes them. The waters sport a beautiful turquoise blue color that makes the rocks beyond the coast and seaweed visible. Admission is free, but be prepared to wait to take photos.

Songdo Cloud Walk was opened in 2015 and is a major tourist attraction in Busan.

Songdo Beach
Songdo Beach in southern Busan has both sandy and rocky characteristics, making it a calm and beautiful place. Songdo Cloud Walk is famous for its striking curves. Take a cable car connecting the parks Songnim and Amnam to see a wonderful sunset hidden behind the mountains. And close by is the city's famous Jagalchi Market, whose seafood restaurants offer fresh dishes.

The COVID-19 pandemic greatly limited traveling to and within Korea, but with the situation getting more stable, I hope to visit Busan again soon.
