Korea.net on Jan. 20 released a video on its official YouTube channel, a 32-minute short on the national brand dubbed "The Secret Museum: Find the Hidden K-Code."
Four high school students visit a literary museum and get drawn into a mysterious game based on the Korean folktale "The Sun and the Moon," the story of two children whose mother is eaten by a tiger but outsmart the beast and climb to the sky to become the celestial bodies named in the title. The game has several rounds asking the students about Korea's sustainability efforts and official development assistance to remind them of the importance of solidarity, with efforts to overcome COVID-19 cited as an example.

The museum setting and high-stakes game, familiar concepts in film and television in recent years, appeal to viewers. The video's mixing of media like animation, art, live action and several screens are also an effective way to attract interest from the start. The tour guide who narrates the story and hosts the game adds to the sense of mystery, though people like me might find her a little bit too scary.

The thing that struck me most about this video was its message of solidarity, saying that "to conquer a pandemic like COVID-19, a sense of community was the top priority." I thought the video was a fun way to learn about Korean's sustainability and ODA efforts, two topics of interest to me. I would definitely watch more videos like this.
