The Korean Culture and Information Service Center (KOCIS) on July 5 appointed the K-pop group THE BOYZ as this year's promotional ambassador for Korean culture at KOCIS Center in Seoul. The appointment ceremony was livestreamed at 10:30 a.m. Korean Standard Time on Korea.net’s official YouTube channel.
KOCIS Director Kim Jangho presented a letter of appointment to group leader Sangyeon and thanked the boy band and its management agency IST Entertainment, saying more people will know about Korean culture thanks to them.

"I'd like to thank you for this opportunity on behalf of this group," Sangyeon said. "Korean culture is so diverse and attracts a lot of global interest, so we look forward to cooperating with KOCIS."
Attending the ceremony made me feel excited not only to see THE BOYZ and hear their speech in person, but also Honorary Reporters, K-influencers and other foreign nationals interested in Korea. The room at KOCIS Center was filled with smiling people who gave off positive vibes.

In their new capacity, THE BOYZ will participate in an advertising campaign for the global Korean contest Talk Talk Korea, which runs from July 17 to Sept. 17. The categories include food, beauty, fashion, culture, music, photography, video, essays, drawings and webtoons.

What a privilege it was to attend the ceremony as an Honorary Reporter and see THE BOYZ in person, but also meet likeminded people crazy about Korea.
