The 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea ended on Aug. 11 with around 40,000 scouts attending the closing ceremony at Seoul World Cup Stadium in the capital.
After the ceremony and official handover to the Jamboree organizing committee of the next host nation Poland, the scouts enjoyed two hours of K-pop performances with 19 acts including NewJeans, NCT DREAM, ITZY, MAMAMOO, THE BOYZ and IVE.
Six scouts and members of the International Service Team (IST) on Aug. 12 shared their experiences via video call, social media messenger and email interviews.

Despite many activities being postponed or canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, I had an interesting and educational experience in doing activities such as archery and fencing. I'd say my first Jamboree was a success and am excited to see where my next overseas scout adventure will take me.
Matthew N. McCormick from US
I was an Eagle Scout and patrol leader for Troop 1 of the U.S. contingent. I was encouraged to participate in the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea by my grandfather, who attended the ninth in England in 1957. Despite the changed schedule due to unforeseen weather conditions, the experience gave me an opportunity of a lifetime to remind myself to be flexible and keep a positive and open mind while embracing new opportunities. My favorite activities were the traditional Korean drum and dance shows.

My most memorable moment was on Cultural Day at Saemangeum, where I introduced Indonesian culture by wearing a traditional Indonesian garment for golek manis, a traditional dance from central Java. I'll never forget making many friends from around the world while exchanging badges and scarves with them. I hope to see them again at other Jamboree events.

The World Scout Jamboree in Korea was an unforgettable experience. On Cultural Day, our unit provided Japanese green tea and introduced traditional games. We also visited the booths of scouts from other countries and it was great to learn about other cultures. I was also happy to see the K-pop concert and all scouts gathering in one place to enjoy it.
Sandro Bulia from Georgia (Central Asia)
This was my first Jamboree, so I enjoyed spending time with fellow scouts and making international friends. My favorite moment was on Cultural Day, when we shared our culture and traditions with scouts from all around the world. I was also glad learn about Korean culture while visiting Gimhae Byeokgoljae Reservoir (Korea's oldest irrigation facility) in Gimje, Jeollabuk-do Province, where I tried on Hanbok (traditional Korean costumes). I also attended the closing ceremony in Seoul, where everyone was filled with energy and emotion.
Elene Svanidze from Georgia
I was grateful to be among nine people representing my country. My favorite moment was when I carried the Georgian flag in front of 40,000 scouts at the Jamboree's opening ceremony. It was also an amazing opportunity to try my favorite Korean foods like kimchi, tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and Korean fried chicken.
