Busan, Korea's second-largest city, is a captivating travel destination known for its stunning beaches, impressive views and innovative art museums. The following is my two-day itinerary of my trip to the nation's biggest port hub on March 28 and 29.

This is me at the cave photo zone at Huinnyeoul Culture Village.

Day 1
My day began at 8 a.m. on a KTX train from Seoul to Busan. Before boarding, I couldn't resist grabbing hard-boiled eggs with salt for the authentic Korean experience, a delightful pre-travel tradition.

Arriving in Busan around 11:30 a.m., my first stop was Huinnyeoul Culture Village in Busan's Yeongdo-gu District. This place had it all, from cute shops, cafes with ocean views and delectable restaurants to vivid murals and even friendly cats. I sought to discover the village's hidden gems and took Instagram-worthy photos at the famous cave.

Next, I climbed the lively piano stairs leading to the village's main street, a place dotted with cafes and shops, all overlooking the stunning Busan coastline.

The park Taejongdae, located on the edge of Yeongdo Island, was mesmerizing and I rode the Danubi train, which circled the island and made stops at points of interest. My first stop was Taejongdae Observation Deck, famous for its panoramic ocean views and delightful presence of cats.

A trip to Taejongdae isn't complete without climbing the iconic Taejongdae Lighthouse. Though the ascent involved numerous steps, the sights and experience were worth the effort. Seafood lovers should also not miss trying freshly caught delicacies right by the water's edge.

This is a sunset view of Gamcheon Culture Village.

After a day filled with adventure, I took a taxi to Gamcheon Culture Village. Dubbed the "Machu Picchu of Korea," this vibrant area boasts colorful houses, mesmerizing sunsets and intriguing art installations. To catch the best sunset view, I climbed to the highest point there, where the sight of the colorful houses against Busan's coastline was stunning. I even spotted tourists dressed in Hanbok, adding another touch of uniqueness to the experience.

Day 2
I started my second day with a traditional Busan meal of milmyeon (wheat noodles) at a restaurant before heading to my next stop of Haeundae Blueline Park. This unique place features a coastal beach train running on an old railroad track. I hopped on a sky capsule to take in breathtaking views of the coastline. Each capsule accommodates up to four passengers and even has Bluetooth speakers, enhancing the experience.

Returning to Mipo Station, I boarded the beach train. The seats were strategically positioned to face the ocean to offer panoramic coastal views. It was easy to hop on and off at attractions or simply enjoy a leisurely walk along the adjacent path. Riding in the evening, I experienced the stunning sunset and mesmerizing nighttime views.

As night descended, I reveled in the lights of Busan's beaches and the romantic atmosphere around Mipo Station. With a heart full of memories, I concluded my two-day trip and hopped back on the KTX to Seoul, but started planning my next visit to this captivating city.
