The workshop shed light on kimjang, or the process and culture of preparing kimchi before the onset of winter. UNESCO lists kimjang as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The workshop began with an introduction to kimjang and later had participants make kimchi. Approximately 30-40 enthusiastic spectators observed the process, gaining insights into Korean culinary traditions.
The workshop featured a series of events and had participants make kimchi.
KCC Director Hwang Il-yong stressed the cultural significance of kimjang and expressed hope for the workshop to further strengthen cultural ties between Korea and India. Participants from the U.N. association also gained an eagerness to delve deeper into Korean culinary traditions.
