The Korea-India Dosti Supporters seek to foster friendship between both countries and are appointed by the Korean Embassy in India. They help organize events and spread Korean culture by creating content. 

One of the leaders of the supporters is Ramneek Kaur, and the following are excerpts of a May 17 email interview with her.

Introduce yourself and your group.

I'm a digital creator and fashion stylist. I work with the Korean Embassy as a Korea-India Dosti Supporter and one of the leaders of this program. We try to create bridges between the two countries by showcasing fusion content and give information on Korean culture and events in our city. In addition, I share my knowledge of beauty trends in Korea through my content.

Why did you join the program?
My passion for skincare and fashion inspired me the most. As a skincare enthusiast, I want to show the best secrets of both countries through my content. Sharing such knowledge with people who connect with you is exciting for me. Moreover, I'm blessed to work with amazing Korean brands.

What impact can the supporters have on raising bilateral understanding?
We try to break stereotypes and show how both sides can work together and appreciate each other's culture. It's beautiful to see how people from the two countries find so much in common within culture and share their experiences.

How has your experience been as a supporter?

I don't even know where to begin because I've had so many beautiful moments. I especially remember when we celebrate each other's holidays such as Chuseok or Diwali. The embassy staff are highly supportive and encouraging, and all that kindness made our experience more joyful and our work fun. Our group also won the Best Team Award and the ambassador handed us certificates with cool gifts.

How can the supporters shape Korea-India relations?
I believe that our role in shaping Korea-India relations is paramount. As youth, we possess the energy, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives necessary to foster understanding and collaboration between the two nations. Through cultural exchanges in sectors such as education and technology, we can strengthen our bond and pave the way for a brighter future.

The friendship between Korea and India is like a dynamic duo in a superhero movie who are unstoppable. From spicy samosas to delicious kimchi, our cultures blend in a perfect recipe for friendship. I want us to join forces and explore new horizons.
