Season two of the hit Netflix series "Squid Game" premiered late last month, and to promote the K-drama worldwide, events and displays have been held worldwide including big replicas of the deadly robot Young-hee.

I attended on Dec. 26 a "Squid Game" event at Kaohsiung Music Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. While on a cruise on the city's Love (Ai) River, I was stunned to see the giant inflatable head of Young-hee floating on the river, a striking reminder of the series' global impact.

On Dec. 29, my sister and I visited the center to get a closer look at the displays. In addition to the inflatable Young-hee, two themed photo-op spots featured the series' pink architecture.

Both venues showcased trailers for the second season and mannequins dressed as the pink guards. Fans, some even clad in green tracksuits like in the K-drama, lined up to snap photos and videos.

In addition, the Kaohsiung Circular Light Rail had trains decorated with the players and pink guards from the series, showing the wide global reach of "Squid Game."
