The event "Milan Loves Seoul" from Feb. 28 through March 3 during Milan Fashion Week showcased the growing cultural and fashion ties between Korea and Italy. As a guest, photographer and illustrator, I saw this celebration of cross-cultural exchange firsthand.
Now in its second year, this event allows emerging Korean designers to showcase their works during the week, while reciprocating by hosting Italian designers during Seoul Fashion Week. Over four days, "Milan Loves Seoul" featured a mix of talks, master classes and conferences that offered insights into Korean culture.

The event's programs open to the public drew fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals from across Italy. Master classes and talks focused on fashion and Korean beauty, with emerging and established beauty brands presenting their latest products.
Designer stands displayed clothing, bags and accessories as well as Korean culture through interactive games and quizzes. As an illustrator, I go to show my drawings of Korean landscapes.

The event attracted Korean actors like Theo Jang from the Korean reality dating show "Single's Inferno" and Ki Hyun-hoo from the K-drama "Jun & Jun," who gave interviews to Korean media personality Joel Lane. Actor Kim Joo-ryoung of "Squid Game" was the event's ambassador.
The invitation-only opening day welcomed influencers and media representatives, with support from institutions including the fashion school Marangoni. Designer Sun Daum's opening show blended Hanbok (traditional clothing) elements with contemporary design, accompanied by a gayageum (traditional zither) performance and dance.
Models display items from collections of participating brands at the final fashion show.
The event's grand finale on March 3 saw six designers and eight brands presenting their collections at two shows. As the event's photographer, I captured the innovative designs on display.
The final fashion show featured an extended performance by the same musician and dancer from opening day, followed by a closing party with a DJ set and live music for invited guests and celebrities.
