The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) in Abuja, Nigeria, on June 14 hosted its annual K-pop festival at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel.
Featuring dancing and singing competitions, the event attracted over 2,000 people in celebrating K-dance's energetic moves and K-pop's catchy hooks. It also promote cross-cultural exchange through the universal language of performing arts.
Singing competition winner MacWhitney Myles performs the song “Yeoreobun” by Ailee.
MacWhitney Myles Iranyohe claimed victory in the finals of the singing competition, earning prize money of KRW 697,126 for her rendition of "Yeoreobun" by Ailee.
"I feel super excited winning this year's singing competition" she said. "I've given it my all, and knowing I did good is what matters most."
The dance competition winner Xtreme Movement performs "Ice On My Teeth” by ATEEZ.
The trio Xtreme Movement won the dance competition, winning KRW 711,403 with their electrifying performance of ATEEZ's "Ice On My Teeth," The group's impeccable choreography, sharp movements and stylish outfits perfectly captured the song's high-energy.
The crowd was enthralled in singing and dancing along, ultimately earning the Xtreme Movement the top spot in the popularity contest.

To generate buzz for the two contests, the KCC pulled out all the stops with events like a raffle drawing and K-pop themed T-shirts. But what really got the crowd going were the inflatable clappers, which the audience used in singing along during the K-pop concert event.
