A year-end concert marking the 70th anniversary of Koreans in India was held on Dec. 20 at OP Jindal Auditorium in the Indian capital of New Delhi.
Organized by the Korean Association of Korea in India and sponsored by the Overseas Korean Affairs Administration and the Korean Embassy, the event attracted members of the Korean diaspora, Indian guests, diplomats, artists and cultural enthusiasts.
Speakers included Ambassador to India Lee Seong-ho and former Indian Ambassador to Korea Rajasekhar Chinthapally. The former diplomat hailed the longstanding bilateral relationship and the contributions of the Korean community in raising cultural and economic bonds, while the latter said the shared values and mutual respect of both sides fostered a positive and dynamic partnership.

The second part of the program was a cultural concert featuring performances ranging from classical music to contemporary dance by world-renowned violinist Baek Jinjoo, soprano Yoo Kyungjin and contemporary dancer Im Jongkyung.
Adult and children's choirs performed under the direction of Yoo and pianist Lee Tae-jun. Other vocal, instrumental and cultural segments included Indian music that symbolized artistic dialogue between the two countries.

Interactive activities helped visitors feel part of the celebration. A photo zone inspired by pop Korean culture drew crowds and a coffee and dessert corner offered traditional refreshments such as tea and traditional snacks.
An online message board saw attendees write messages of congratulations and support for the association. Customized tumblers engraved with names and commemorative designs were given as keepsakes, while a raffle added excitement.
