The Korean Embassy in Iran last year played a key role in deepening cultural understanding and strengthening people-to-people ties between both countries.
Through a range of programs, the embassy's cultural section hosted events for Iranian enthusiasts of Korean culture.
Minhwa (folk art) workshop on Jul. 31, 2025
Weekly cultural workshops provided participants with regular and hands-on exposure to traditional Korean arts and crafts. Activities such as making
bokjumeoni (traditional money pouches) and
minhwa (folk art) workshops taught not only technical skills but also the cultural symbolism and historical background behind each art.
"Quiz on Korea" on June 12, 2025
Among the highlights of embassy events was the return of "Quiz on Korea" after a hiatus of several years. By combining friendly competition with in-depth knowledge of Korean history, culture, language and contemporary society, the event attracted many contestants in reflecting growing interest in Korea among Iranian youth.
Honorary Reporters awards ceremony and luncheon on Aug. 13, 2025
Another notable event was an Honorary Reporters competition on their experiences with Korean food. Through written submissions, contestants shared their encounters with Korean cuisine focusing on taste, preparation and cultural meaning. The awards ceremony followed by a lunch featuring Korean food, offering a chance to celebrate to the winners and an opportunity to connect and enjoy Korean food.
A Kimchi Day event on Nov. 6 had visitors divide into seven groups of six Iranians and two Koreans each to prepare kimchi, followed by the preparation and sharing of Iranian kebab.
