The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 hosted the KOR–IND K-Content BizWeek at the hotel Hyatt Regency in New Delhi, India, to foster partnerships and expand business networks.

The three-day event attracted 20 Korean content companies and 73 Indian counterparts. Attending were Oh Jin-hee, deputy chief of mission at the Korean Embassy in India; Shri Prabhat, additional secretary at India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Kim Young-soo, director of the KOCCA India Business Center; and Ashish Kulkarni, a board member of Indian Institute of Creative Technologies.

The event opened on Aug. 31 with the India Strategy Forum, which explored perspectives on the South Asian country's content industry, localization and business environment. This was followed by the program "Spotlight on K-IP," where 10 Korean companies presented their content intellectual properties in animation, characters, broadcasting and gaming.

Participants on Sept. 1 continued discussions through networking and business consultations and concluded with signing of memorandums of understanding in the evening. Over the event period, KOCCA recorded 320 individual export consultations.

Growing Indian interest in Korean content has also expanded business exchanges between the two countries. One was the KOR–IND K-Content BizCon in Mumbai from May 5–6, featuring 46 companies from both countries.

Building on the connections made in Mumbai, KOCCA continued these exchanges through the event in New Delhi.

By linking Korean content companies with potential Indian partners and facilitating subsequent discussions, KOCCA sought to develop sustained bilateral cooperation in content industries rather than relying on one-off promotional events.
