A photo of "Manchuria Cave," a hideout for Korean independence forces during Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula, on Aug. 23 hangs on an outside wall of Seoul Metropolitan Library in the city's Jung-gu District. The cave is believed to have been used by students in the mid-1910s who carried out armed struggles against the Japanese and contains on its walls drawings of the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) and the names of independence fighters. The city government will display the picture through Sept. 12.
