A cable car going over a lake by Samaksan Mountain in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province -- the longest of its kind in the nation -- began running on Oct. 8. It crosses Uiamho Lake from the boarding area in the city's Samcheon-dong neighborhood and travels for 3.6 km before nearing the summit of the mountain at an altitude of 440 m. Sixty-six cabins that can each carry eight people run, with some being "crystal cabins" with floors made of fortified glass.
