Hyangwonjeong Pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul's Jongno-gu District on Nov. 5 was reopened to the public after completion of restoration work. As a resting place for the royal family of the Joseon Dynasty, the hexagonal two-story pavilion was built at the center of the square pond Hyangwonji. Hyangwonjeong means "pavilion that widely spreads a scent" and is believed to have been built from 1867-73 during King Gojong's reign. An exhibition from April next year will be held in the structure's interior.
