Guards at Gyeongbokgung Palace on Jan. 19 stand by Geunjeongmun Gate amid a heavy snow warning issued for Seoul and other areas in the nation's central region. The gate is the main entrance of Geunjeongjeon Hall, the building within the palace that hosted major national ceremonies during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Many amateur photographers flocked to capture the beautiful snowy scene at the palace in Seoul's Jongno-gu District.
