On the morning of Sept. 15, the 72nd anniversary of the Incheon landing during the Korean War, war veterans and related figures place wreaths in front of U.S. Gen. Douglas MacArthur's statue at Freedom Park in Incheon's Jung-gu District. With the code name Operation Chromite, the famous military operation in 1950 was conducted by Allied forces from the Republic of Korea and the United Nations under the command of Gen. MacArthur in Incheon, which was occupied at the time by the North Korean People's Army.
