The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. will temporarily open to the public a plot in the city's Songhyeon-dong neighborhood in Jongno-gu District that has been closed since the Japanese colonial era. The plan is to turn the 37,117 square m of land, which is equal to three times the size of Seoul Plaza, into a public and green rest area called "Open Songhyeon Green Plaza" (unofficial translation). Shown is the Songhyeon plaza on the day of its temporary reopening, with Gyeongbokgung Palace seen on the left.
