The 39th contingent of the anti-pirate Cheonghae Unit, officially dubbed the Republic of Korea Navy Somali Sea Escort Task Group, on Dec. 19 leaves Busan Naval Base in Busan on the Gang Gam-chan of the destroyer class Chungmugong Yi Sunshin (DDH-II, 4,400-ton class), with relatives of the crew seeing the ship off.

The 39th contingent of the anti-pirate Cheonghae Unit, officially dubbed the Republic of Korea Navy Somali Sea Escort Task Group, on Dec. 19 leaves Busan Naval Base in Busan on the Gang Gam-chan of the destroyer class Chungmugong Yi Sunshin (DDH-II, 4,400-ton class), with relatives of the crew seeing the ship off. Through June next year, the contingent will rotate shifts with the 38th contingent to escort ships around the Gulf of Aden and support their safe navigation.
