A ceremony marking the 104th anniversary of the Korean Provisional Government on the morning of April 11 is held at Seodaemun Independence Park in Seoul's Seodaemun-gu District. The government in exile gave the country its name "Republic of Korea" for the first time and said the political system would be based on democratic republicanism, clarifying the people's freedom, equality and right to vote. Under the slogan "Free People of an Independent Democratic Nation" (unofficial translation), the event attracted 400 people including the relatives of pro-independence patriots, leading government officials and youth.
