Marathon great Lee Bong-Ju (first on left), who won the silver medal in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, and other bicyclers on May 11 ride in front of the Monument for the Participation of British Commonwealth in the Korean War in Gapyeong-gun County, Gyeonggi-do Province, at an event for United Nations countries that participated in the war. Marking the 70th anniversary of the conflict's cease-fire this year, the event honors the sacrifice and dedication of veterans from U.N. member states by having the bikers go through battlefields of the war. Covering a roundtrip distance of 22 km, they passed a monument to Australia and New Zealand's participation in the war and one to Canada's.
