New firefighters on the morning of Dec. 28 are sworn in at an appointment ceremony at Gyeonggi-do Fire Service Academy in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province. The combined 427 academy graduates completed 19 weeks of training in firefighting, rescue, emergency operations, first aid and fire prevention. From early next year, they will be deployed sequentially to their stations and begin work.
