Visitors on April 9 lay flowers at the memorial ceremony for the late Col. William E. Weber, an American veteran of the Korean War, at the park Imjingak in Paju, Gyeonggi-do Province. Losing his right arm and leg in a battle in Wonju, Gangwon-do Province, he led efforts to set up 19 stainless steel statues (one of which represents him) honoring U.S. veterans of the conflict and build the Wall of Remembrance, which bears the names of both fallen Korean and American soldiers, at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington.
