The decontamination of Kori-1 Nuclear Power Plant, the first of its kind in the nation's history, is seen on May 7 off the coast of Gijang-gun County, Busan, ahead of the planned dismantlement of the facility. The decontamination process removes radioactive materials from the complex using chemicals. Kori-1 began commercial operations on April 29, 1978.
