A Runner Station opened on May 21 inside Yeouinaru Station in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo-gu District marked the debut of a city project to transform unused areas of subway stations into cultural and sports spaces for public use. The Seoul Metropolitan Government installed lockers and changing and powder rooms at Runners Base Camp on the station's first basement floor for easy use of the gym with just sneakers and no other preparation. A horizontally long electronic board on the mezzanine level gives information on the weather and running or sports activities hosted by the city.
