Plum blossoms on March 5 bloom on Gyeongchip (Day of Awakening from Hibernation), the third of the nation's 24 traditional solar terms under the lunar calendar, along Hadong Plum Street in Seoul's Seongdong-gu District. Gyeongchip is traditionally considered the start of spring when frogs and insects end their winter hibernation, a time when organisms come back to life.
