Three days ahead of the centennial Hangeul Day (Oct. 9), the Textbook Museum in Sejong on Oct. 6 displays relics like the first Hangeul textbook "Hangeul Cheot Geuleum" (The First Step to the Korean Alphabet) and "Gungmin Sohak Dokbon" (The People's Elementary School Textbook), the first first government-issued textbook in Hangeul. Shown is "Badugi and Cheolsu," the first government textbook released after the 1948 launch of the Republic of Korea.
