A selection of electronic devices made by Samsung and LG has been named Innovation Awards Honorees for the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2019).

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes the annual trade show, announced its list of honorees for CES 2019 on Nov. 9. The trade show will run in Las Vegas from Jan. 8 to 11, 2019.

Samsung Electronics made the Best of Innovations list with its TV and monitors, due for release next year. In the TV category, it got recognition for its QLED and micro LED technologies, receiving accolades for its flat panel display technologies for the eighth year in a row. The company's PC monitors made the innovations list for the first time this year.

In addition, Samsung received a total of 30 innovation awards including seven for its TVs, two for household appliances, 12 for mobile devices, three for P.C. related devices, one for smart home devices, and five for its semiconductors.

For household appliances, CES recognized Samsung's refrigerators and washing machines equipped with artificial intelligence and Internet of Things. The company's smartphones and tablet P.C. received accolades as well.

LG Electronics won a total of 19 CES innovation awards, for the LG V40 THINQ with its triple rear and dual front cameras, and for its soundbars, featuring technologies by U.K.'s Meridian Audio.

In particular LG OLED TVs received three innovation awards, making the list for seven consecutive years. Industry experts noted that these TVs, with millions of individually lit pixels, gave the company an edge in the TV market.
