Yoon Sojung Two Korean carmakers and one tire manufacturer have won accolades from the Red Dot Awards, one of the world’s top three honors in design.
The Palisade, Hyundai Motor’s largest SUV, on March 25 won the Red Dot Award for "Product Design - Cars and Motorcycles." The vehicle features a mash-shaped, large front radiator grill and vertically displayed LED headlamps.

Kia Motors, meanwhile, won Red Dot Awards for its five-door Ceed hatchback and sportswagon models and new ProCeed five-door shooting brake. The automaker said its Ceed line has received favorable reviews from the European market since its first-generation model was introduced there.
Kia added that its third-generation Ceed model was also a finalist for this year's European Car of the Year award.
Hankook Tire's new flagship UHP tire, Ventus S1 evo 3, won a Red Dot Award for product design. This tire offers top-notch dry and wet handling performance as well as comfort, the company said, with interlocking outside grooves that ensure wet grip, prevent hydroplaning on slick surfaces and secure dry handling performance.
The Red Dot Design Awards are an international competition of product and communication design run by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. It is considered one of the world’s top three design awards along with the iF Design Award of Germany and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) of the U.S.
