The 2025 Science Festival runs from April 16-20 in Daejeon.

The Ministry of Science and ICT on April 17 announced its hosting of the event in downtown venues including Daejeon Expo Plaza, Daejeon Expo Park, and the first and second exhibition halls of Daejeon Convention Center.

This year's festival combines the events Korean Science Festival, Korean Science Technology & Fair and Daejeon Science Festival, all three of which used to be held separately.

The some 850 programs are being held under the theme "Science and Technology's Engine: Awakening Curiosity."

A "curiosity power plant" at the plaza features science and technology culture programs such as performances and interactive experiences.

A "curiosity institute" at the convention center's second exhibition hall will showcase cutting-edge technology, entries to CES (Consumer Electronics Show) of the U.S., and results of research and development at universities. Also featured are outstanding works from 139 institutions like programs for preventing dementia and vehicles responding to evening wildfires.

Science YouTubers will talk on stage with visitors about science and technology.

A "curiosity theme park" at the park and the center's first exhibition hall will host a global science and culture forum and interactive programs like hot air balloons and drones. A food zone offers a bunch of edible delights.

More information on the festival's events and programs is available on its official website (https://www.scienceall.com/sciencefestival2025).
