Seoul on Nov. 10 saw its first snow of the season.
Snowfall thus came a month earlier this season than around the same time last year.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) on the same day said light snow was observed at 6:10 a.m. by its weather observation station of the Songwol-dong neighborhood in Seoul's Jongno-gu District. For statistical consistency, the snow seen by the station was recorded as Seoul's first of the season.
The capital thus saw snowfall 30 days earlier than last year (Dec. 10) and 10 days earlier than the average (Nov. 20) for the Seoul metropolitan region.
The KMA forecast under 1 cm of snow in select areas but added that it will melt quickly with a rise in temperature during the day.
