The Guidebook for Living in Korea, a free e-book offered in 13 languages, has been released to help multicultural families and foreign residents adapt to life in Korea.


The book is available in Korean, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog (the Philippines), Khmer (Cambodia), Mongolian, Russian, Japanese, Thai, Lao, Uzbek and Nepali. 

 

The Korean Institute for Healthy Family on Sept. 1 said the e-guide contains information on support services for multicultural families and expats, applications to obtain residence in the country or Korean nationality, Korean culture and lifestyle, pregnancy and childrearing, education for children, health and medical care, the social security system, finding a job and employment.


It also has the latest information on benefits for multicultural families raising children such as benefits for birth support and subsidies for early child care.  


For those visually impaired or with difficulties in reading, audio service is available in six languages: Korean, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Tagalog.


The guide can be downloaded from its official website (www.krguide.kr) or the Danuri web portal (www.liveinkorea.kr).
