The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) from Oct. 21-22 hosts this year's Job Fair for International Students at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul's Gangnam-gu District under the organization of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The fair comprises job briefings by participating companies, first-hand accounts from foreign students who got jobs in Korea and consultations on getting work visas from the Ministry of Justice.
A combined 115 Korean companies are participating in sectors like information technology like SK Telecom and LG CNS, parts, materials and equipment, consumer goods and service industries, and pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Approximately 1,600 international students from 88 countries will attend this year's fair, 56% of whom have a master's degree or Ph.D.
Foreign students in Korea are known to quickly adapt to working here because of their familiarity with the culture and fluency in the language.
Kim Yoon-tae, executive vice president for KOTRA's Small and Medium Enterprise Division, said, "Foreign students will greatly help domestic companies secure competitiveness for overseas expansion and help resolve the labor shortage in the IT sector."
