LG Group has begun running 2,030 double-decker buses in downtown Paris inscribed with messages promoting Busan's bid to host the 2030 World Expo.
The conglomerate on Nov. 7 said an event it hosted the day before unveiled its Busan Expo Bus for the campaign at a cafe on the Seine River near the Eiffel Tower in the French capital.
Special Presidential Envoy and Senior Secretary for Future Strategy Jang Sung Min and LG representatives attended the event, where two double-decker buses were covered with images of Busan's landmarks and ads expressing the city's desire to host the event. Both vehicles began running that day.
City buses in Paris early this month began running with promotional banners attached supporting Busan's 2030 World Expo bid.
In addition, another 2,028 city buses in Paris early this month began running with LG-sponsored phrases supporting the bid. Through Nov. 28, when the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) announces the event's host city, they go around the center and outskirts of the city including areas around flagship tourist attractions like the Louvre Museum and Champs-Elysees Avenue.
"These 2,030 promotional buses will make visitors to Paris as well as residents remember Busan's 2030 World Expo bid," Secretary Jang said at the event.
At its general assembly in Paris on Nov. 28, the BIE will announce the host city for the 2030 World Expo from among the three candidates of Busan, Riyadh, and Rome.
