Acting President Choi Sang Mok, who also serves as deputy prime minister and minister of economy and finance, on Jan. 21 sent a congratulatory message via X (formerly Twitter) to U.S. President Donald Trump on the latter's inauguration.

Congratulating both President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, Acting President Choi said, "The Republic of Korea looks forward to Making the Alliance Great Again in the 47th presidency, as we have during the 45th (Trump's first term)."

The message apparently used President Trump's campaign slogan "Make America Great Again."

President Trump on Jan. 20 was sworn in as the 47th U.S. commander in chief at the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
