The global popularity of domestic content such as "KPop Demon Hunters" has made Seoul the favorite global city of youth for the fourth straight year.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) on Aug. 20 said the capital was named Favorite Worldwide City for millennials and Gen Z members, referring to people born between the early 1980s and early 2010s, at this year's Trazees Awards, extending a streak that began in 2022.

The Irish capital of Dublin ranked second, while Hong Kong was third and London fourth.

The global travel media Trazee Travel selects winners each year through voting in categories such as travel destinations, hotels and tourist cities.

The survey polled 804,820 readers from September last year to May this year. The awards ceremony was held on Aug. 19 in Los Angeles.

On why the capital was voted the world's best city for such youth, the city government and the STO cited the global spread of Hallyu (Korean Wave) culture, Seoul's unique blend of tradition and modernity, digital-based infrastructure for smart tourism and status as a global leader in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) industry.

In addition, the capital was named Best City for Solo Travel 2025 by the travel site TripAdvisor and Best MICE Destination for the 10th consecutive year by Global Traveler. It also placed third worldwide in the number of global conferences by the Union of International Associations.
