The country's public trust in the central government is among the highest in the world.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety on June 30 said Korea placed sixth among 38 countries in this year's Survey on Drivers of Trust in Public Institutions by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This is the nation's highest ranking in history and represents a jump of nine spots from the previous rankings.

Public trust in the central government in Korea (51.03%) was significantly higher than the OECD average (40.13%), jumping about 14 percentage points from the last survey.

Satisfaction with administrative services (79%) and healthcare system (74%) each came in fifth. Public confidence of the government providing personalized services using artificial intelligence was second (59%).

Korea placed 23rd in confidence in the legitimate use of personal data (47%) and satisfaction with its education system (51%).

Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho Jung said, "We will continue government innovation based on public participation and communication."
