A newly launched integrated information platform offers a one-stop service for searching for data and services related to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

The Ministry of Unification on July 27 announced that its DMZ Portal (www.dmz.go.kr) offers DMZ-related stories, news releases, academic papers, research materials, publications, videos, and information on tours and events.

Information on the DMZ was previously scattered across the websites of ministries and agencies, so users had to search multiple sources. The new portal has a consolidated collection of data from the central and local governments, public institutions and academic research organizations.

The DMZ Peace Map and the virtual experience service Universe were also integrated into the portal.

The portal also has artificial intelligence (AI)-based services. AI summarizes and provides search results, and an English-language service that uses AI to translate the Korean-language website improves accessibility for international users.

To coincide with the portal's opening, the ministry from July 27-28 will hold the event "Our DMZ (Inside DMZ: Unboxing)" at Government Complex-Seoul to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement.

Minister of Unification Chung Dongyoung and local government heads in border areas also attended an opening ceremony for the portal.
