Golfer Park In-bee won the Ricoh Women's British Open to become the first Asian to achieve a career grand slam on the LPGA Tour.
Park finished a strong final fourth round of seven-under 65 with seven birdies, one eagle and two bogies at the Trump Turnberry Resort in Scotland. Park beat her compatriot Ko Jin-young by three, at 12-under 276 in total. This is Park's first victory at the Women's British Open.
Park won her first major at the U.S. Open in 2008 and continued to win the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA Championship and the U.S. Open in 2013. With this victory now in the Women's British Open, she has accomplished a career grand slam on the LGPA Tour. A career grand slam consists of four major wins throughout one's entire career, regardless of season.

Park In-bee watches her second shot during the final fourth round on Aug. 2.
Park was three shots behind Ko until the 13th hole (par 4) and did not seem to be having any luck in the Women's British Open this year. However, she succeeded in a 7-meter eagle putt on the 14th hole (par 5), reducing two shots, while Ko recorded a bogey on the 13th hole. They were immediately tied.

Park In-bee thanks the cheering gallery on the 18th hole.
"I felt like I was in good condition on the second and third holes, but I made bogies on the fourth and fifth holes and thought I would have no luck this time, again, in the Women's British Open," said Park. "Then I decided to make up my mind and continue the game, feeling as if I was starting all over again."

Park In-bee sheds tears of joy after achieving her career grand slam on the LPGA Tour.
After Park's victory, President Park Geun-hye sent a congratulatory note to her on Aug. 3 congratulating her on achieving her career grand slam.
"Congratulations on your victory in the Women's British Open and achieving a career grand slam," wrote President Park. "I hope that you will be able to bring happiness and dreams to the Korean public by continuing to achieve great results with your endless passion for the sport."
