The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games kick off on Sept. 8 at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.




The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, being held in South America for the first time, kicked off on Sept. 8.

The 15th Paralympic Games started with a splendid opening ceremony at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The games will run for 12 days, and more than 4,400 athletes from 160 countries will be vying for the 528 gold medals on offer in 22 categories. Team Korea has more than 80 athletes competing in 11 categories.
