The Korean women's curling team and the four-man bobsleigh team both made history on the final day of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

On Feb. 25, the women's curling team went up against Sweden in the women's curling finals at the Gangneung Curling Center. The Korean curlers lost to Sweden 8-3, but they claimed the first ever Olympic silver medal in Korean curling history.

Their medal was all the more worthwhile given that Pyeongchang was their second Olympics.

Sweden, having defeated Korea, won the gold medal, while Japan won bronze.

The Korean curlers, who rose to fame at the PyeongChang Olympics, were beloved by curling fans new and old all across the world. They played their final match with the ardent support of their local fans.

The other historic silver medal went to the Korean four-man bobsleigh team that snatched the first-ever bobsleigh Olympic medal for East Asia.

Team Korea placed second after four rounds in the men's bobsleigh heats, held at the PyeongChang Sliding Center on Feb. 25. They claimed a joint silver medal with a total time of 3:16.38.

The gold medal went to the German team led by Francesco Friedrich, with a time of 3:15.85. Another German team, led by pilot Nico Walther, took home the other silver medal with exact same time as Korea.

The Korean four-man bobsleigh team didn't enjoy as much media attention as the two-man bobsleigh team, but it finished the Olympics in the spotlight, adding another prized silver medal to Team Korea's haul on the final day of the 2018 Winter Games.
