Team Korea continues to win medals at the Asian Games 2018 Jakarta-Palembang, which marked its half-way point on Aug. 25.

The unified Korean team took a historic first medal in international sports in the canoe TBR 200 m women’s race. The medal taken by the joint team does not belong to either South or North Korea, but to a separate “Korea” team. The two Koreas made joint teams for women’s basketball, canoe dragon boat racing and rowing.

In ju-jitsu, held at the Asian Games for the first time this year, Sung Kira became the Asian champion in the newaza women’s -62 kg category, defeating her Singaporean rival Lien Tain En Constance 4-2.

The men’s bowling team of six scored 8,540 points, beating Hong Kong, which scored 2,175 points, by a large margin. The men’s bowling team of six took its third consecutive gold medal in the Asian Games after ones at the 2010 Asian Games Guangzhou and at the 2014 Games in Incheon.

With two additional gold and four bronze medals won on Aug. 25, Team Korea is in third place on the medals table with a total of 25 gold, 26 silver and 33 bronze medals.
