Two Korean soccer players in the English Premier League (EPL) -- Son Heung-min, 29, of Tottenham Hotspur and Hwang Hee-chan, 25, of the Wolverhampton Wanderers -- have been named to The BBC and EPL Secretariat's lists of the league's team of the week.
The BBC on Oct. 3 announced the picks of its analyst Garth Crook based on action in the league's seventh week of the season. Son was chosen as left midfielder and Hwang as center forward in the 3-4-3 formation.
Thus two of this week's best 11 players in the league were Korean.
Son on the same day helped his team to a 2-1 victory at home against Aston Villa. He was also named "Man of the Match" by his team.
Hwang on Oct. 2 had his first multi-goal game in the league by scoring twice in the Wanderers' 2-1 home win over Newcastle United at Molineux Stadium.
In addition, both players were on the EPL Secretariat's team of the week as selected by analyst and former England great Alan Shearer.
This list had a 4-3-3 formation with Son at left wing and Hwang at center forward.
