Lee Kyoung-hoon is the first Korean to win the same event on the U.S. Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Tour for two straight years, a feat he pulled off at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Lee shot a nine-under 63 with one eagle and seven birdies in the fourth round of the PGA's season finale at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
Finishing at 26-under 262, he beat runner-up Jordan Spieth of the U.S. (25-under 263) by one stroke to earn the victory.
His victory at the same event in May last year was his first win and 80th tournament appearance on the tour, a feat he duplicated this year.
Lee is the first Korean to successfully defend his title at a PGA event.
He is also the sixth Korean with more than one win on the tour after Choi Kyoung-ju (eight wins), Kim Si Woo (three), and Yang Yong-eun, Bae Sangmoon and Im Sungjae (each with two).
The AT&T Byron Nelson also saw a Korean winner for the third straight year thanks to Lee's second straight victory, with Kang Sung-hoon winning in 2019. The tournament in 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
