The national team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, on Sept. 26 won four gold medals on the third day of the continental competition, with one each in shooting, taekwondo, judo and fencing.

In shooting, the trio of Jeong You-jin (Cheongju City Hall in Chungcheongbuk-do Province), Ha Kwang-chul (Busan Metropolitan Government) and Kwak Yong-bin (Chungnam Sports Council) scored a combined 1,116 points to claim the men's 10-m running target mixed run at Fuyang Yinhu Sports Centre, beating runner-up Kazakhstan (1,111) and Indonesia (1,098). This was the second gold for the team a day after it won the regular 10-m running target event.


In taekwondo, Park Hye-jin (Goyang City Hall in Gyeonggi-do Province) claimed Korea's fourth gold in the event with a 2-1 victory over Lin Wei Chun of Taiwan. Park won the women's 53-kg title in sparring at Lin'an Sports Culture & Exhibition Centre.


In judo, Kim Ha-yoon (Ansan City Hall in Gyeonggi-do) beat Xu Shiyan of China by half a point in the women's 78-kg final at Xiaoshan Linfu Gymnasium. Kim thus won Korea's first gold in the event at the competition.


Fencing brought home gold for the third straight day. Yoon Ji-su (Seoul Metropolitan Government) won the women's individual sabre at Hangzhou Dianzi University Gymnasium with a 15-10 victory over Shao Yaqi of China.

As of 4 p.m. on Sept. 27, Korea remained second in the medal standings with 15 golds, 18 silvers and 23 bronzes. China was still No. 1 with 62 golds, 35 silvers and 13 bronzes while Japan was third with nine golds, 21 silvers and 21 bronzes.
