The national team on Oct. 3 won one gold, three silver and two bronze medals on the 10th day of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, continuing its gold medal streak.

The baduk (go) team of 9-dan professional players Shin Jin-seo, Shin Min-jun, Park Jeong-hwan, Kim Myung-hun and Byeon Sang-il brought Korea its only gold of the day in a 4-1 win over China at Hangzhou Qi-Yuan Chess Hall.

The women's team of 9-dan Choi Jeong and Oh Yoo-jin and 7-dan Kim Eun-ji settled for the silver after losing 2-1 to the host nation.


In canoe sprint, the men's team of Cho Gwang-hee and Jo Hyun-hee (Ulsan Metropolitan City), Jang Sang-won (Incheon Metropolitan City) and Jeong Ju-hwan (Korea Sports Promotion Foundation) finished second with a time of 1:25.006 in the men's four-person kayak 500 m at Fuyang Water Sports Centre.


In the same event for women, Choi Ran, Lee Ha-lin and Lee Han-sol (Buyeo-gun County in Chungcheongnam-do Province) and Jo Shin-young (Daejeon Sports Council) earned the silver with 1:42.870. 

In track and field, the men's team of Lee Jeong-tae (Anyang City Hall in Gyeonggi-do Province), Kim Kuk-young and Ko Seung-hwan (Gwangju Metropolitan City), and Lee Jae-seon (Korea National Sport University) crossed the finish line in 38.74 seconds to win bronze in the men's 400-meter relay at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium to claim the country's first medal in the event in 37 years.

In diving, Yi Jae-gyeong (Gwangju Sports Council) finished third in the men's 3-meter springboard at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Aquatic Sports Arena with 426.2 points from his six dives.

As of Oct. 3, Korea was third in the medal standings with 32 golds, 42 silvers and 65 bronzes. China remained atop the rankings with 161 golds, 90 silvers and 46 bronzes while Japan was second with 33 golds, 47 silvers and 50 bronzes.
