Commemorative stamps wishing for a successful 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics (Gangwon 2024) will be issued next week.

Korea Post, the national postal service under the Ministry of Science and ICT, on Dec. 6 said it will issue 624,000 commemorative stamps on Dec. 12 for Gangwon 2024, which takes place from Jan. 19 to Feb. 2 in Gangwon-do Province, namely the city of Gangneung and counties of Pyeongchang-gun, Jeongseon-gun and Hoengseong-gun.

The stamps will feature Moongcho, a snowball character who is Gangwon 2024's official mascot, and the event's slogan, "Grow Together, Shine Forever."

They are available for purchase at the country's post offices and Korea Post's website (www.epost.go.kr).

About 1,900 teenage athletes aged 15-18 from approximately 70 countries will compete in 15 events at Gangwon 2024, an official event of the International Olympic Committee.
