Baseball outfielder Lee Jung-hoo, who recently joined the San Francisco Giants of the U.S., has appeared on a promotional poster of Major League Baseball (MLB) 100 days ahead of the start of next season.
The MLB Secretariat on Dec. 20 unveiled a poster on its social media accounts featuring six players including Lee.
Lee is joined on the poster with five other active players: Masataka Yoshida of Japan (Boston Red Sox); Christian Yelich (Milwaukee Brewers) and Trea Turner (Philadelphia Phillies) of the U.S.; and Julio Rodríguez (Seattle Mariners) and Jose Enrique Ramirez (Cleveland Guardians) of the Dominican Republic.
Lee recently signed a six-year deal with the Giants worth USD 113 million.
At his introductory news conference on Dec. 15 at Oracle Park in San Francisco, he said, "The San Francisco Giants are a team with a long history and many players in the Hall of Fame," adding, "I'm honored that such a team chose me and for the chance to play for such a franchise with a rich history."
MLB will hold its opening games of next season in Seoul, with the Los Angeles Dodgers to face the San Diego Padres from March 20-21 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul's Guro-gu District.
Lee will make his MLB debut on March 29 in a game against the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego.
